The manna, precious sap of the ash trees with many beneficial properties, is still harvested every summer in the country near Castelbuono. This tradition has now disappeared in the rest of South Italy. It survives here thanks to the efforts of a few passionate people.
You will meet Mario, a young manna producer, in one of the ash tree groves he deals with. He will show you all the steps of the extraction process. He will also explain what the manna is used for, in particular in natural medicine but also in cosmetics and pastry.
During the visit, participants will taste manna. During the harvest period, they will be able to experience a special beauty mask with manna.
